Born in Ottawa, son of Mr. Mrs. George Goodwin. Attended St. Patrick's School and Glebe Collegiate Institute.Was well-known in Badminto in Canada and US. He held three Dominion Championships and won the only open (US-Canadian) championship in 1939. M. Louise Drouin, Quebec City 1937. Trained at Toronto, St. Catherines and jarvis, Ontario, graduating Dec. 1940. Overseas to RAF Feb 41. Then considerable operational service over enemy territory. On 25 July 41 parachuted safely while returning from mission to Bremen. On 12 Oct 41 while on ops over Germany as air gunner, he and all his Sterling bomber crew were lost. Reported missing, on 27 Mar 42 posted presumed dead.Buried, Dinant, near Namur, Belgium. Surv. Wife and sons Ross and John, 63 Levis Ave., Quebec City.
