  • Born at Santa Ana, Cal, USA. Attended Laguna Beach Grammar School and Laguna Beach High School. Later San Jose State College, San Jose, Cal. Then Teachers' State College Flagstaff Ariz. Considered both an outstanding student and an outstanding athlete throughout his academic career. Enl. Vancouver 17 Feb 1941. While in training at Brandon MB. He was a member of the Senior Basketball Champions of 1941 in Manning Depot No. 2. Goff was killed during training at RAF 15 (P) AFU (Pilots Advanced Flying Unit) based at Leconfield Yorkshire but also using facilities at Kirmington (21- Group), Lincolnshire. He is buried in Brigg Cemetery in Brigg, a small market town in northern Lincolnshire (formerly Glanford Brigg).This is a small cemetery with some 50 graves, at least nine being of RCAF aircrew, apparently casualties of the same unit, the remainder personnel of other Commonwealth aircrew. He died when the engine of Oxford trainer AT 739 cut and it spiralled into the ground at Barnetby near Digby.
