  • Born in Winnipeg, son of Roy and Stella. Educated at Summerset and Mulvey Schools. He was active in sport and played hockey and soccer with the Knox United church teams. Hobbies, building model aircraft and horseback riding. Worked at T. Eaton Co.Enl. Jan 1941 and trained at Brandon, Calgary and Paulson. Overseas 5 Jan 1942, buying a monkey in Toronto on the way, which became a mascot of RAF 150 Sqn. All the commonwealth aircrew buried in Briggs Cemetery, including nine RCAF, seem to have been victims of training accidents of nearby RAF 15 (P) "pilots" AFU "Advanced flying Unit" Leconfield Yorkshire, using facilities at Kirmington Lincolnshire (21 Group) as part of Flying Training Command.surv. Father, Toronto and Mother, Winnipeg., Brothers, Rflmn Edwin and Pte Lawrence and sisters Mrs. R McMahon and Mrs. A c Pherson, both of Winnipeg.
