Interesting Facts

  • Son of Achille and Helee Lefebvre, of Grand'Mere, Province of Quebec, Canada. Flying Officer Lefebvre was killed in a flying accident while accompanying a fellow pilot on an operation that required volunteers. Their aircraft was inundated in a sandstorm, causing engine failure. Due to low visibility, the craft struck a sand dune while trying to find a suitable spot for an emergency landing. Both Flying Officer Lefebvre and the pilot (John Stein) were killed instantly.
