  • Born at Otter Lake, Que. and grew up in Renfrew, Ont. Attended Separate schools then Almonte High School, St. Patrick's College, Ottawa. Hobbies golf, rugby, hockey, boxing, swimming and vocal music. Enl. from college Oct. 1941. Trained at Toronto, Rockcliffe, Trenton and in Manitoba. Overseas Nov. 1942 to 23 OTU. Took off from Stratford airfield as Air Gunner in Wellington BJ786 on point-to-point navigation training flight. Struck ground in Fountains Park near villages of Sawley and Markington in Yorkshire. All killed. Surv. parents Mr. Mrs. John Dorzek Sr. of Renfrew, brother Sgt Joseph, sisters Mrs. Thomas Lance, Mrs. Rolland Burgeon, Mrs. Preston Esley, Mrs. Walter Burgess and Jack, all of Renfrew.
