Interesting Facts

  • Son of Reginald T. and Reita M. Burlingam, of St. Andrews, Manitoba. Flying Officer Burlingam received exceptional grades and comments from his superiors during training, and rose up through the ranks quickly as a pilot. He was reported missing on August 19, 1942 following air operations and was reported officially dead when his body was recovered on the beach in Coxyde, Belgium on September 9, 1942 11 miles east of Dunkirk.
