  • One of Kingston hero, Lt. Bruce Carruthers's men;"although mortally wounded through the bowels, he exhaustewd his ammunition, secured another bandolier (90 rounds) and used it up and as the Boers were making their final rush broke his rifle, rendering it useless." Some accounts say he was from London.
