Interesting Facts

  • Son of William and Mary Reilly of Grand Valley, ON.

Pte. Austin was killed by German shell fire at the Battle of Mouquet Farm in the town of Pozieres France. His body was not found until twenty one years after his death in 1937 when local excavation work was being done. His body was identified by the metal tags that were around his neck. His body was then given a proper burial at that time in the Suererie Military cemetery.
