  • A member of D (Ottawa and Kingston) Coy 2 SS Bn RCRI, at 28 grocery store clerk Teddy DesLauriers was a popular Ottawa member of the PLDG described as a comedian and the life of the party by his comrades and well-known as a hard rider and drinker. His official cause of death was listed as "Heart Failure" when in fact it was by alcohol poisoning the fourth day out while suffering Delirium Tremens following the Quebec City celebrations the night before the Sardinian sailed.
