  • Born in Hartney, MB. PS and HS Harney. Hobby, hockey. Still HS student at enl Winnipeg, Oct 1940. Trained at Brandon, Winnipeg, Regina, Fort William, Uplands. Overseas Nov 41. Reported KIA with his crew over Flensburg, Commissioned FO the day he was reported missing. Three months previously he had been voted a member of the Caterpillar Club (Operational escape by parachuting). Surv parents, Mr. Mrs. Harrell  J. Atkinson, Hartney, MB. Bro Kenneth, US Army Air Corps, Long Beach, Cal., Bro Ronald at home, Sisters, Anita and Phyllis.
