  • Born at Welland, Ont. Senior Matric, Welland High School, hobbies, swimming, shooting, fishing, skiing and the culture of flowers. Enl. while still a student at Welland April 1942. Trained Toronto, Fingal, Goderich, Camp Borden and Charlottetown. Overseas Nov. 1942 to England, Egypt and North Africa. Contracted Malaria and died in Tunis. Surv. parents, Mr. Mrs. Benjamin Downs of Welland; Mrs. Grace D. Campbell, Toronto and Ursula M. at home.
