Interesting Facts

  • Born at Frenchville, Sask. Attended Val Marie School and High School. Studied with Father Murray at Wilcox, Sask, obtaining Grade XII. An excellent allround athlete. Hobbies tennis hockey, baseball, hunting and swimming. Became a civil engineer and enlisted at Swift Current May 1941. Trained at Manning Depot, borden, Guelph, Macdonald and Halifax. Overseas 9 May 1942. When the Duke of Kent had visited Borden, Dunand was a member of the Guard of Honour. In London, England, he was the Canadian representative as Flight commander on Dominion Day 1942 and was presented to the Canadian High Commissioner. Surv. Parents, Mr. Mrs. Antoine Marie Dunand, Val Marie, Sask. and brothers Robert and Marcel in the armed forces and Mrs. Bernadette Lacroix, Therese, Louie, Joseph, Marie Jeanne and Guy.
