  • Born at Denver, Colorado. Attended local schools at Neville, Sask.. Hobbies, Hiking and Hockey.Worked in local hardware store. Enl. Swift current April 1940. Trained Weyburn, Shilo, Toronto. Overseas Dec. 1940. Took part in commando raids on Bologne and Dieppe. Returning to Dieppe during Op. Jubilee, was killed by a sniper as he was helping a wounded comrade. Surv. mother Mrs. Rose L. Dempsey, Regina, SK. Brothers LAC Dempsey RCAF, Wendell at Trail, BC., half-brother Victor E. Spicer, Sisters Mrs. LD. McMartin, Vermont and Mildred, at home.
