  • Educated at Lisgar Collegiate, Ottawa. Lived at 530 King Edward Av. Ottawa.Secretary of the Moses Bilsky Chapter , AZA (Junior B'Nai Brith) of Ottawa 1939-40. He won the award of Best Chapter Secretary in District No. 1 in Syracuse, NY. in March 1940, and was winner of the 1939 AZA Debating Trophy in Ottawa. In December 1939, together with a colleague of the Moses Bilsky Chapter he won the Laurentian Regional Association Debating Trophy at Buffalo, NY. Also in March, 1940, the pair were second in the District No. 1 competition in Syracuse, NY. He attended the International AZA Convention at Port Jervis, NY. in July 1939 and was amember of the team winning the Outstanding award for entertainment. He was one of three members of Ottawa AZA who spoke from the pulpit at the Congregation Avath Jeshurun, Ottawa, in connection with the AZA (National) Sabath.Enl. June 1940 and shortly afterward was officially elected as an Advisor of the Moses Bilsky Chapter AZA. Surv. Family at 146 Ruskin Ave. Ottawa.
