• Son of Mary Lyons of Edmonton, AB. Husband of Lillian Viola Ruby Lyons of St. James, Manitoba. Father of Geraldine Lorraine (9 Jan 1938), Patricia Marie (11 May 1939) and William John (11 Aug 1940). Educated at Strathcona School and Albert Public School in Regina, SK.

  He served in Canada 25 Sep 1939 to 21 May 1940 before arriving in Jamaica 31 May 1940. Died after suffering from acute appendicitis, general peritonitis and cardiac failure is also listed in his personnel file. Reportedly, Pte. Lyons suffered two days of abdominal pain prior to admission to hospital. Funeral took place 24 September 1940.
