  • Born at Cobalt, Ont. Attended local schools. Played Hockey and Rugby. Enl at North Bay while still a student. Trained Toronto, Picton, St. John, NS., St. Thomas and Fingal. Overseas Jan 1942. Flew as navigator on raids over Europe.June 1942 went missing for five days with five companions and rescued from North Sea. After MIA report, Int'l Red cross reported his burial at Kiel. Surv. father, Wm J. Dempsey, brother in RCAF and brother Harold, at home. Sisters, Mrs. Greta Moore, Timmins, Mrs. Ina Malcolm, Port Arthur, Mrs. Dorothy Perrier, Cobalt and Miss Ida at home. Previously mistakenly entered as ROLAND OLIVER D.
