Interesting Facts

  • Son of James Sapsford of Laindon, Essex, UK. Predeceased by his mother. Brother of Tom, George, Jennie, Carrie and Nellie. Recieved his Grade 8 diploma in Norwood, ON in 1914. Served with the 12th District Depot C.A.A.F., and later with the 7 CDN Field Coy R.C.E. Died of wounds sustained to his abdomen and left hip in Bedburg, Germany in February 1945, at the age of 42. Upon his death, his belongings including a pocket watch, snaps, letters and postcards were sent back to his family.
