  • Ms letter (6pp), dated 12 June 1941, from a Flight Sergeant in the RAAF to his parents, to be opened in the event of his death, outlining his belief that his participation in Allied bombing campaigns was justified on moral and religious grounds and for this reason asking them not to mourn his death; he was killed on 10 October 1941 when his aircraft hit a mine when it crash-landed on return to the United Kingdom from an operation with No. 12 Squadron RAF Bomber Command; together with an associated letter (1983) and two press cuttings (1997).
