Hector Therrien was born in St. Anicet, Quebec, the son of Jean-Baptiste Therrien and Marguerite Agnes Deschamps. He married Alice Alexina Murphy in Cornwall on 28 Jul 1940. Hector enlisted in the RCN at Cornwall on 28 Oct 1942 and died of wounds sustained in the sinking of HMCS Valleyfield. He was awarded the c.v.s.m clasp and the 1945 war medal after his death.
