  • Regiment Other: Wichita University Reserve Officers\' Trng Corps and US National Guard 35th Div.

    Born in Wichita, Kansa, USA., Prim sch Wichita, HS Kennedy, Texas, Wichita Univ., Enl 19 Aug 1940. Died three weeks before graduating and getting his "wings." Shortly after death a US veteran resident of Calgary commissioned a cairn "to further cement the ties that bind the United States and Canada." Dedicated 17th Aug 1941 the cairn stands on the south side of the Banff Hwy 8 miles west of Cochrane, AB. and reads, `This Memorial is dedicated as a pledge of everlasting friendship to the United States of America and to the gallant fighters from her every state who joined the British Commonwealth of Nations in the fight for democracy during the second great war.`On the opposite side are the names of two men. One is LAC Chace. Surv by mother, Mrs. Bertha E. Chase  of Augusta, Kansas.
