Son of Mr. and Mrs. James Henry Penfound, of Oil Springs, Ontario. Husband of Mrs. Elva Penfound of Inwood, Ontario. Born in Petrolia, Ontario on May 2nd, 1891. Worked as a labourer prior to enlisting in Toronto on July 7th, 1913, at the age of 22. He died in hospital of wounds sustained in battle on December 13, 1918 at the age of 27.
