Interesting Facts

Esgenoopetitj First Nation from Burnt Church, NB. Son of Peter Bernard and Mary Ginnish. Attached to the 182nd Tunnelling Company, Bernard fought in major battles including Vimy Ridge. Died after sustaining wounds to his abdomen and right leg during the first day of the Battle for Hill 70.
