Interesting Facts

Enlisted with the 54th Bttn (Kootenay) and was transferred to the 2nd Tunneling Coy. before being dispatched overseas. On June 2nd, 1916, Collings was wounded in battle and taken to a dressing station at Maple Copse. Later that day, the station fell into enemy hands and Collings was taken prisoner. He later died on June 9.

Next of kin: Alec MacDonald (cousin) of Hunter's River, P.E.I.

Sapper Collings is also remembered on the Hartsville War Memorial in Hartsville, P.E.I.
