Born in Trafalgar Township, Ont. Lived in Milton. Milton High School and the Galt Aircraft School. Hobbies, building model aircraft, baseball and hockey. Enl. Galt, while still a student at school, April 1940. Trained at St. Thomas and Camp Borden. Feb 1942 overseas to join 97 Pathfinders Sqn RAF and made 43 operational flights in Lancaster bombers. In August 1943 awarded Distinguished Flying Cross by HM King George VI and married Kathleen Lake of Stickney, Boston, Lincolnshire.
