Born in Winnipeg, MB. Winnipeg Public School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Active in rowing, soccer, golf. Fine singer and dramatist. Sang in many Gilbert and Sullivan productions and in Knox United Church and Maryland United Church choirs at different times. Enl. June 1940. Was one of the first observer graduates of the British Empire Training Plan. Went overseas with batch of fifty graduates and quickly joined the RAF, giving up the chance to remain in Canada as an instructor. Was part of the group entertained by HM the Queen at Windsor Castle. When he went missing he had been owed four days' leave but had postponed them because of the pressing need for aircrew. He was unmarried and surv. by parents, Mr. Mrs. John Easton of Winnipeg.
