Son of John F. and Mary A. Smith, of Kamloops, BC. Enlisted at the age of 24 on Oct. 10, 1916 at Vernon, BC. Served with the 54th Battalion (Kootenay) CEF until he was killed in action on Sept. 2, 1918.
