Born in Toronto. Educated at Upper Canada College. Graduated Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Mining) Royal Military College of Canada at Kingston, Ont. Commissioned Lieutenant 1st Field, Company Canadian Engineers and trained at Valcartier, Quebec. Overseas to England in 3rd Field Company Canadian Engineers with first contingent England. To France with 2nd Field company Canadian engineers Sep 1914. Transferred to Sqn Royal Flying Corps July 1916 and flew as Observer. Selected for pilot training and returned to England. Back to France as pilot 18 April 1917. Shot down 18 May 1917 while flying a Neuport attacking a German Observation balloon. A bullet struck him in the heart and his plane crashed into a field near Geluwe, Belgium. Surv.by brothers Lt.
