Born in Singhampton, Ont., Profession "Teacher" with home in Moose Jaw, Sask (although a student at Queen's University) upon enlistment Sep. 1916 in 196 Western Universities Bn (Saskatchewan Regt). Overseas Nov. 1916. Promoted lieutenant Feb. 1917. Posted to 45 Sqn RFC April 1917 and completed training as air gunner 31 May 1917 on Western Front. KIA 6 days later. Died with pilot and fellow teacher Robert Smith Bennie when their Sopwith Strutter plane encountered 16 enemy planes over Menin and went down in flames while both men jumped. Surv.
