Faits intéressants


  • Son of Ronald J. and Matilda MacDonald, of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. John MacDonald survived the Dieppe Raid with his division making it farthest inland during the operation. He was eventually killed in action in Bray-Dunes, France 1944 while throwing grenades into German Fox-holes when a mortar round flew past him so close that he was killed by the shock wave.
