  • Born in Calgary AB., son of William and Ernestine. Moved to Winnipeg 1923. Attended Provencher School and St. Paul's College. enjoyed Music, Rugby and Hockey and flying as a passenger. Some business college and work in office. Enl. 1 Oct 1940. Married Gratia Adelaide Gray 10 April 1941 in Hamilton. One daughter, Gloria Marie. Trained in Eastern Canada and then overseas in August 1941.to 401 Squadron. Went missing ove English Channel while flying Spitfire X4666 escorting blenheim bombers to Ostend. Belgium. Surv. Wife and daughter, Parents Mr. Mrs. WJ Clarke and sister Pauline at 3 Ellesmere Apts, Winnipeg, brothers, Ernest and Albert, RCAF and Lt. Denis, RCHA, and sister, Mrs. CS Andrews, Winnipeg.
