• Attended school at Newcastle, NS. In 1939 as an infantryman was guarding railroad bridges at Derby and Upper Nelson, NB. When his regiment was disbanded on 31 Dec 1940 he returned to school continued his education. Enl. RCAF Oct 1940. Trained at Brandon, Mossbank, Portage la prairie, Regina and Yorkton. Overseas to flying duties in Scotland Oct 1941. Surv. Parents, Mr. Mrs. RC Vye, Newcastle, NS.
