• Name given variously as Jacob or James. Born in Russia of non-conforming Mennonite stock and came to Canada at an early age and settled at Manitou, MB. Educated at Winnipeg Normal School. Enl 2 Jan 1941 Winnipeg. Married  Ruth Simmans 19 July 1941 by whom he is survived at Morden, MB.
