  • At Honkop,near the railway line between Pretoria and Bloemfontein,Capt. C.C.Bennett's patrol of British and Canadian troopers was ambushed and surrounded and 24 men captured, including the captain. Six were wounded and four killed, including 2 Canadians, Sgrt-Maj Chalmers and Tpr H.J. Sproule.
