Interesting Facts

  • Richard Lett and his brother Henry, were both Northwest Mounted Policemen, one of several sets of brothers who enlisted together. On 21 July the CMR were at Rietvlei, and along with their sister Battalion the RCD in support of the Royal Irish Fusiliers had taken part in several skirmishes in the area following the British success at Witpoort.
